How to create and submit sitemap in Google Webmaster tools




Sitemap is a tree like structure which contains your each and every blog post links that you have posted in your blog or website. Many of us don't know how to submit sitemap in Google Webmaster tools but it is simple and easy step to do. Sitemap submission to Google Webmaster tools is very important because with the help of your sitemap only that your blog or website will get indexed in Google and the Google rowboats and crawlers will come to your page to crawl it whenever a search query is inducted into the Google search engine by the visitor.

Once you visit this link input your URL of your website or blog and click okay then your site map will be generated. You can go ahead to download a site map and upload it wherever you want.

Now that you have created a site map by visiting that URL and the sitemap generated will be like for example your blog name/sitemap.xml

Steps to follow to add your site map in Google Webmaster tools

Step one sign-up with Google Webmaster tools

Step two once you sign up click add a site which is present in Google Webmaster tools read colour button.

Step three-once you click that it will ask you the URL of your blog or website. Enter the URL and click continue.

Step four-it will ask for you to verify your site by doing the following. Follow the steps that Webmaster tools gives you.

Step five-once you verify your site than in site dashboard option of Google Webmaster tools click crawl option.

Step six-once you click crawl option you will see the options list where you can find sitemap.

Step seven-click on the site map option where it directs you to the sitemap page there click add or test site map option in red.

Step eight-once you click that option then you have to input your sitemap.xml name.

Step 10-it will take two or three days to successfully add your site map mean while it shows pending so don't get worried .

Now you have successfully added your site map and submitted to Google Webmaster tools for crawling and indexing of your blog pages and articles.
